Sustainable communication is one of basic needs that connect people to life. While the chance is at our fingerprints nowadays, in Çanakkale of 1915, in the midst of a rough war, this need was covered with letters. Of course, as much as possible regarding the literacy rate and the circumstances of postal service at that time...
With our brand Turkcell, we wanted to seek for response to unanswered letters of soldiers, who had battled at Çanakkale front, back in March 18, 1915. Thanks to Çanakkale’ye Mektuplar (Letters to Çanakkale) project, young souls, who, during war, have managed to fit all their hopes, longings, fears and dreams into letters, that would have probably never reached their destinations, have found life again with the response from today. Every single response written by www.canakkaleyemektuplar.com visitors on the website has turned into a sapling and found their place in a memorial forest in Çanakkale.
At first day, website alone received over 350.000 visitors.
Our online movie reached 3.5 millions of views.
In a time when making someone tweet is really hard, 4.000 letters have been written.
99% of the comments were positive on social media.
The campaign has been featured by almost 100 local and national news channels.
The project has been praised and received tens of various awards from global and local organizations.
